Calcium aluminate refers to a group of compounds formed by the reaction between calcium oxide (CaO) and aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) at high temperatures. These compounds have applications in refractories, cements, and acid-resistant materials. Unlike Portland cements, they don’t release calcium hydroxide during hydration.
